Ricky Gervais aka Derek

Ricky Gervais has got an infectious laugh that compares to Patrice. Oddly enough, I was introduced to both comedians by listening to the Opie and Anthony Show.

I’ve been trying to sleep and it just isn’t working out for me tonight so I decided to watch Derek. Holy crap. I was expecting humor and got it, but was NOT expecting to feel sadness or other emotions.

The show currently is only seven episodes, all viewable on YouTube. In a couple months Netflix will be picking up the next season.

Zimmerman, One Year Later

I can’t sleep.

I decided to take a look at my blog and noticed that it was almost a year to the day that I last posted anything about Zimmerman.  Now, the post at the time dealt with the media and how they were covering the story, and, well.. why not continue with that thought?

The only reason this story ever saw the light of day is because the media picked it up and decided to run with it (completely ignoring stories that could have been covered showing the terrible direction this great country is headed).  Why not cover it though?  It has all those great things the media loves to see: a young black kid, an older non-black adult, “racism”, “murder”, gun laws, etc.  It was covered as if it was an open and shut case.  If left up to the majority of media the entire country would be left believing that Zimmerman should have (1) spent the rest of his days rotting in prison, or (2) been executed.  I won’t go as far as saying Zimmerman was innocent, because he was involved in a series of events that led to the death of Trayvon, but I will say he was not guilty.  Trayvon played a part in this, too.

I’m way too tired to put together a cohesive thought, but Charles Barkley (yes, CHARLES BARKLEY) said it fairly well:

“I watched this trial closely and I watched all these people on television, talking about it. A lot of these people have a hidden agenda.. The bias comes out.”

Which brings me to another thought, I’ve been wanting to read Bias by Bernard Goldberg.  Why can’t it be cheaper?

New April Resolution

Is it possible to bypass a New Year’s resolution for a few months time but then have a New April resolution instead?  Well I’m doing it!  Bring it!

So I got myself a Kindle Fire HD (Swype is kinda fun I must admit, thankfully it’s pretty smart) and my resolution is to try to post more frequently.  Which should be easy given my past history of posting ;-)

Any who, dinner time.  Noodles.  -N +T
